Update: human remains identified, North Framboise, N.S.

Investigators assigned to the Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit confirm that the remains exhumed on May 27, 2015 have been positively identified.

With the assistance of the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office, RCMP confirms that the human remains were identified as Michelle Marie Demers-Kennedy.

Demers-Kennedy was reported missing to Richmond County RCMP on May 12, 2013 from her Framboise residence. Merlin Kennedy pled guilty to Manslaughter on May 20, 2015. He remains in custody until his sentencing on June 19, 2015 in Port Hawkesbury Supreme Court.
