Update: Ingonish RCMP investigate motor vehicle incident on wharf, Ingonish, N.S.

RCMP have charged a 43-year-old man in relation to a motor vehicle incident that occurred on the Bay St Lawrence wharf on October 9th.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m.

, Ingonish RCMP members responded to a call about a vehicle that was forced over the end of the wharf in Bay St-Lawrence by a pick-up truck. Preliminary investigation revealed that a car with two male occupants in it was pushed into the water by the driver of a pick-up truck. The two occupants of the car were able to swim to shore although they received minor injuries.

On October 21st, Simon Wilfred Bonnar was arrested in St. Margaret’s Village.. He faces the following Criminal Code charges including Attempt to Commit Murder, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats. He appeared in Sydney Provincial Court and was remanded into custody until a court appearance scheduled for today.
