Update: Man charged in hit and run, St. Peter’s, N.S.

Richmond County RCMP have laid charges in a hit and run investigation between a car and a cyclist that occurred on Highway 104 on June 23, 2015.

At approximately 7:45 p.m.

, RCMP and EHS responded to a report of a hit and run collision involving a 64-year-old cyclist. The investigation determined that the cyclist was headed East on Highway 104 when he was struck from behind. The suspect vehicle did not stop at the scene, but was later located by police.

Richmond County RCMP have charged a 68-year-old man from Grand River. He is facing a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle without Due Care and Attention under the Motor Vehicle Act. He will appear in the Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on August 28, 2015. The cyclist has been released from hospital and is recovering.
