Halifax District RCMP has located the body of Wayne Leonard Baker, the 61-year-old West Jeddore man who was reported missing on September 20.
At approximately 10:05 a.m. this morning, searchers located the body of Mr.
Baker in Goose Lake, West Jeddore. Goose Lake is approximately 1.5 kilometres from his home on West Jeddore Rd. Mr. Baker’s next of kin have been notified, and foul play is not suspected.
Mr. Baker was reported missing to Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP on Monday, September 21. He was last seen at his home at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 19. Numerous Ground Search and Rescue teams from across the province, as well as the Halifax Regional Police K9 unit and Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources provided assistance during the search.
The RCMP would like to extend our appreciation to all of the support agencies and volunteers who worked tirelessly on this search during the last several days.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr. Baker during this very difficult time.
