Richmond County RCMP are investigating a motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 69-year-old man on Saturday.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Richmond County RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and the local fire department responded to a motorcycle crash on Highway 4 in Hay Cove.

Preliminary investigation determined that the rider was traveling eastbound when he hit the shoulder and lost control of his motorcycle.

Thomas Charles Warren, age 69, from Birch Grove, was transported by EHS to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The investigation is continuing.
