RCMP investigate fatal collision that has claimed the life of an adult male. Benjamin Donald Carver, 37, of Sheet Harbour died as a result of the collision.

Earlier today at 5:30 a.m.

, RCMP responded to a report of a collision in Marshy Hope. Preliminary investigation determined that a collision occurred between a tractor trailer and pick-up. The driver of the pick-up was pronounced dead at the scene. The highway was blocked in both directions and traffic diverted eastbound at exit 29A and westbound at exit 30. Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal assisted with traffic control.

A collision analyst is assisting investigators with the investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
