Update: Police conclude Lower Sackville sexual assault investigation, Lower Sackville, N.S.

Police have concluded the investigation into a reported incident in Lower Sackville. On October 21st, 2014 at approximately 6:35 a.m., Lower Sackville RCMP received information indicating that a 37-year-old female had been sexually assaulted on a pathway near the Kinsmen Club and Sackville High School.

On October 21st, 2014 at approximately 6:35 a.m., Lower Sackville RCMP received information indicating that a 37-year-old female had been sexually assaulted on a pathway near the Kinsmen Club and Sackville High School.

Police began to investigate immediately and are looking for two male suspects driving a dark-colored two-door car. The victim indicated that the car had been parked at the Kinsmen Club parking lot.

Police did a thorough investigation and from that determined there was no validity to the complaint brought forward. As a result, there is no risk to public safety in relation to this reported incident.

‘Reporting a sexual assault can be very difficult, however we want to continue to encourage victims to come forward,’ says Cpl. Greg Church. ‘We take these complaints seriously to protect the citizens we serve.’

Halifax District RCMP want to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation.

The investigation is now concluded.
