Update: Police-involved shooting in Eastern Passage

RCMP release:

At approximately 1:48 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a physical assault at a residence on Cedar Ln. in Eastern Passage. During the RCMP response, a member discharged their firearm; a person sustained life-threatening injuries consistent with a gun shot wound and was transported to hospital. No one else was injured.

The matter has been referred to the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) as per the Nova Scotia Police Act, which will conduct an in-depth investigation into this incident.

Officers are still at the location, continuing with the investigation.
