Road Construction – Joseph Howe Drive
Location: Intersection of Joseph Howe Drive and Highway 102, Exit 0
Date: August 15 to early December
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, with evening and weekend work as required.
Work details: This project supports upgrades to the intersection of Joseph Howe Drive and Highway 102, Exit 0 and establishes a safer and more connected active transportation network as part of the Regional Centre Cycling Network<www.halifax.ca/transportation/cycling-walking/expanding-network/regional-centre-bikeway-update> outlined in the Integrated Mobility Plan<cdn.halifax.ca/sites/default/files/documents/about-the-city/regional-community-planning/IMP_report_171220-WEB.pdf>.
Traffic impact: Traffic delays can be expected due to lane reductions; however, at least one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Pedestrians and cyclists can expect to encounter sidewalk closures at times on the Joseph Howe Drive sidewalk and the Chain of Lakes trail; however, one sidewalk on either side of Joseph Howe Drive will remain open.
