Update: RCMP investigate snowmobile collision, Halifax Regional Municipality, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP wish to advise that one of the women involved in a snowmobile collision on Saturday evening died in hospital on Wednesday. On Saturday evening shortly after 9 p.m.

Halifax District RCMP wish to advise that one of the women involved in a snowmobile collision on Saturday evening died in hospital on Wednesday.

On Saturday evening shortly after 9 p.m.

, Lower Sackville RCMP members responded to a snowmobile collision on Springfield Lake in Middle Sackville. Preliminary investigation revealed the snowmobile struck a concrete retaining wall near the shore after crossing Springfield Lake. The female driver and passenger were ejected from the snowmobile and were both transported to hospital.

The 43-year-old driver of the snowmobile, of Lower Sackville, died as a result of injuries sustained during the collision. The female passenger was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital. The name of the deceased is not being released at the request of family. The investigation is continuing.
