Update: RCMP locate deceased man in submerged vehicle, Cleveland, N.S.

The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team has recovered the remains of Ernest Daniel MacRae, 57-years-old, from Port Hawkesbury. Mr MacRae was the driver of a vehicle that had gone off the road and into the Lower River yesterday evening.

The vehicle, a Mazda MPV, was located below the ice where it had entered the water. When the vehicle was removed from the water the remains of Mr. MacRae were located in the driver’s seat still wearing his seatbelt. At this time, there is no evidence to indicate that there was anyone else in the vehicle when it went into the water. The investigation is still ongoing.
