Lunenburg County RCMP are releasing the name of the ultra-light plane pilot that died earlier today.

Shortly after 10:15 a.m. this morning, Lunenburg County RCMP, Emergency Health Services(EHS) and the New Germany Fire Dept received a call that an ultra-light plane had crashed near Old Barss Corner Road in Lunenburg County.

Byron Varner, 65, of Barss Corner, died when his ultra-light plane crashed near Old Barss Corner Road. The investigation is continuing.
