Update: RCMP respond to motor vehicle collision on Highway 101, Windsor, N.S.

RCMP remain on the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on highway 101 near Ellershouse. At approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning, Windsor RCMP, Windsor Fire, and Emergency Health Services responded to a multi-vehicle collision which resulted in the death of a 23-year-old man from Hants County.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning, Windsor RCMP, Windsor Fire, and Emergency Health Services responded to a multi-vehicle collision which resulted in the death of a 23-year-old man from Hants County.

The Saturn car he was driving was pinned between a cube van and a Nova Scotia Power truck that was towing a Volkswagen. The Volkswagen went on to collide with a Hyundai Accent.

A 50-year-old male driver and 24-year-old female passenger, both of Kings County, were in the cube van. The Nova Scotia Power truck was driven by a 56-year-old man from Dartmouth. A 43-year-old male from Kings County was driving the Hyundai Accent. All were treated by Emergency Health Services paramedics for minor injuries and released.

The eastbound lanes between exits 3 and 4 remain closed at this time while a Traffic Collision Analyst investigates. Traffic is being rerouted onto highway 14.
