Update: Several people have been charged after Bay St Lawrence disturbance, Ingonish, N.S.

RCMP have charged several people after a disturbance and assaults that occurred at the Bay St. Lawrence wharf. On July 9th, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Ingonish RCMP responded to a report of a group of males fighting with weapons.

On July 9th, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Ingonish RCMP responded to a report of a group of males fighting with weapons.

The caller also stated that a male had been run over by a truck. Preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place between two men and that it escalated to five men becoming involved. At one point during the altercation, one of the men jumped into a vehicle and tried to run another man over.

The following men have been charged under the Criminal Code.

Eric Blaine McLellan, 23, from Capstick – Assault with Weapon, Intimidation, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Breach of Undertaking.

Frank Andrew Mackinnon,18, from Bay St Lawrence – Mischief endangering life, Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats.

William Simon Bonnar, 22, from St. Margarets Village – Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

Rocky Daniel Buchanan, 35, from St. Margarets Village – Uttering Threats and Breaching a Conditional Sentence Order.

Jake Hector Mackinnon, 23, from Bay St. Lawrence – Attempted Murder, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Breach of Probation, Aggravated Assault, 2 counts of assault with a weapon, Mischief endangering life, breach of probation, fail to appear.

Frank Mackinnon was released to appear in Ingonish Provincial Court in September. The other men have been remanded into custody and will appear in Sydney Provincial Court at a later date.
