Update – Westphal man charged with attempted murder, Westphal, N.S.

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a Westphal man with two counts of attempted murder following an overnight stabbing early Saturday morning in Westphal.

At approximately 12:50 a.m. on June 6, 2015, police were notified that two stabbing victims had arrived at Dartmouth General Hospital. An investigation by Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police revealed that two 17-year-old males had been stabbed in Westphal and both had suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Greg Dylan Bacon, 19, of Westphal has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, as well one count each of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited/Restricted Weapon, and Aggravated Assault. He is being held in custody for a court appearance on Monday, June 8 in Dartmouth.

Notes to media: The location of the stabbing was Westphal, not North Preston as stated in an earlier release. The General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is comprised of members from Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police.
