Wastewater System Overflow near Northwest Arm Diverted

(August 17, 2023) Halifax Water would like to inform residents that the wastewater system overflow near the Northwest Arm area has been diverted and is being treated. Wastewater is no longer overflowing into the Northwest Arm.

It is strongly advised that people and pets should not go swimming or participate in recreational activities that require water contact in the Northwest Arm until further notice.

We have made the applicable federal, provincial, and municipal entities aware of this incident.
