Date: Monday, July 4 to Friday, August 5
Time: One lane of traffic will be open, controlled by traffic signals, 24/7 from 7 p.m. Friday, July 29 until 7 p.m. Friday, August 5
Work details: This work is to improve road safety by replacing deteriorating guiderails and a retaining wall, as well as to apply road embankment erosion protection measures at various locations along Waverley Road. This project is approved by the 2022/23 Municipal Capital Budget <www.halifax.ca/city-hall/budget-finances/budget> and is required to improve traffic barrier protection for the public and resolve street drainage and issuing issues.
Traffic impact: On Friday, July 29 at 7 p.m., Waverley Road will open to one lane of traffic, controlled by temporary traffic signals. The traffic signals will direct traffic flow at the work site near 2342 Waverley Road. The traffic signals will be in place 24/7 until 7 p.m. on Friday, August 5.
The traffic signals will be removed on August 5 at 7 p.m., and both lanes of traffic will be operational at that time. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Transit: There is no impact to transit users.
