A man was shot in front of the IWK Grace last night at approximately 7pm. Police have released more details on the event this morning.
From HRPD:
“At 7:00 p.m. today (Tuesday), the Halifax Regional Police responded to the IWK Grace Hospital on University Ave in Halifax of a call that multiple shots were fired outside. Police located a man in his mid twenties suffering from a non life threatening bullet wound. He was taken to the QEII Hospital for treatment.
At this time the scene is being investigated by Forensic Identification Section members, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
This is not believed to be a random act.
Update:
As a result of the investigation into the shooting at the IWK Parking lot, a 17 year old female who was with the victim at the time of the shooting, will be appearing in court this morning facing charges of possession of a weapon, (firearm).
The victim of the shooting has been released from the QEII Hospital after being treated for his injuries.
There have been no other arrests in this matter.
