Urban farm celebrates 15th birthday, highlights from 2010

Excerpts from the Urban Farm Newsletter from December 2010:

The Urban Farm will celebrate its 15th birthday in 2011. Congratulations to all members, volunteers, and friends of the farm.

The “Come Grow With Us” program at the Urban Farm for
2011 now has its own garden space. The space is currently outlined by logs which will be replaced by 6×6 beams, and a seated arbour will also be added.

Two fawn deer were born the first week of June near the Urban Farm. The mother deer visited the Urban Farm but deer tape kept her out of the garden.

The total vegetable sales were higher this year than
in previous years. Lettuce, swiss chard, potatoes, garlic, beans, cucumbers, and peas were popular sellers.
