Vehicle stop leads to seizure of contraband tobacco, Boularderie, N.S.

Sydney RCMP Federal Operations have charged two men from Ontario as a result of a vehicle stop on Highway 105.

On March 9th, 2014 at approximately 9 a.m.

, Victoria County RCMP stopped a vehicle on Highway 105 in Boularderie, Victoria County. As a result of this vehicle stop, a search of the vehicle was performed and RCMP seized 135 cartons and 380 ziploc baggies of contraband tobacco. Two adult males were arrested without incident and taken into custody under the Federal Excise Act.

The men, ages 63 and 73, will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today to face charges under the Federal Excise Act and the Provincial Revenue Act. The investigation is continuing.
