It has been a while since my last review of Vichy products. I have since found more products to enjoy. The first item spoke to my heart – Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot.
I have dark spots from old acne scars, tried tons of products but still waited for one that works in the long term.
Hyaluspot is a feel-good product for me in different aspects.
First, the main ingredients. Hyaluronic acid, a natural skin moisturizer with anti-inflamatory properties, is to form an invisible film on the skin surface which creates a barrier to the bacteria responsible for spot outbreaks, avoids over contamination from external agents.
Then, salicylic acid (BHA) exfoliates the skin and devoid dead skin cells to allow imperfections to be targeted. LHA, derived from salicylic acid, stimulates cellular renewal of tired skin, allows the reduction of pigmentary flaws at the surface thanks to its exfoliating effect.
The result is desirable, in one word. I am not imagining it, but my dark spots are lightened after a month I use Hyaluspot consistently, twice a day. It might work differently on you, depending on your skin condition.
Second, the cool applicator with cooling effect. People mentioned the “spoon in the freezer” trick a lot but can’t say I tried. The cooling sensation woke me up every morning, pleasantly of course.
The swiveling plastic cap keeps the applicator clean at all time, not easy to come off by itself in your purse, which means it is perfect to tote around.
Above all that, the light floral scent, like one luxurious skin care normally smell like, was the last straw to get me addicted to using this product every day since I received it.
Ingredients: Water, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Ammonium Polyacryldimethyltaurate, Triethanolamine, Salicylic acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate, etc.
Hyaluspot is paraben and silicone free, suitable for sensitive skin. It dries quickly and invisibly on the skin. Retails $21 for 15ml. I want a huge tube of it 🙂
Another good smelling and nice product to accompany Hyaluspot is Vichy Idealia Life serum [LR2412+LHA].
First off, check out the awesome packaging – The box is holographic, which shines in different colours under flash, and the glass bottle is in ombre pinks (see below).
Second, what it does. I hope you remember my raves about Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 (S10) – a youth enhancing serum (dealing with wrinkles/ pores, firmness, radiance of the skin) for women over 30. Idelia Life serum, on the other hand, targets behavioural aging – lack of sleep/ sport, pollution, stress, unbalanced diet, hormonal imbalances, UV rays, dry weather and more, which I believe we all have at some extent as adults. You know the common symptoms: sad/ tired looking face, dark shadows, enlarged pores, oily, dry patches, etc.
LR2412, derived from jasmine in its natural state, responds to aggression by secreting a repairing acid which accelerates epidermal repair and improves the skin’s ability to protect itself. You had seen this ingredient in a similar Lancome product.
LHA is already mentioned above with Hyaluspot. Together, these two main ingredients improve the skin texture and elasticity.
Idelia Life serum, also with the light floral scent with a musky finish also acts well as a radiance primer. Don’t be scared of the word radiance, as it only offers a very subtle glow from underneath your makeup, nothing crazy.
Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Cyclohexasiloxane, Isopropyl Isostearate, Octyldodecanol, Dicaprylyl Ether, Sodium Tetrahydro Jasmonate, Dimethicone, Dipropylene Glycol, Polymethyl Methacrylate, CI 17200, CI 15985, CI 77891, Mica, etc.
Also good for sensitive skin, the serum has 30ml, retails $59.
A glance at the texture of the two products.
Hyaluspot is a clear gel, which dries quickly into nothing, while Idealia Life serum is a luminous lotion, only by the look, which disappears on application.
All in all, I haven’t come across a Vichy product that I don’t like. This is not because I was sent the products, as I have repurchased a few times once I ran out. The state of my skin right now gets Vichy to thank.
A FOTD I did wearing both these products. Of course you won’t be able to see them, as they are meant to be base products, but I think a look is fun to add to the review.
The extremely nude lip is not very me but I’m glad I was brave/adventurous enough to try it.
