The filming for the Hallmark movie “Christmas Island” took place in Canada, with most of the scenes shot around Halifax, Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg. They did all the filming in 2023, setting the stage for the romantic tale in this scenic and historic part of Canada.

It tells the story of Kate’s diverted private flight to Christmas Island in Switzerland, where she teams up with an air traffic controller to secure her dream job as a family pilot. Rachel Skarsten stars as Kate Gabriel alongside Andrew W. Walker, under the direction of David Weaver with a script by Samantha Herman. The film promises the usual Hallmark blend of romance and holiday spirit in a picturesque setting.
