HIV/AIDS Awareness Week in Nova Scotia begins today and runs until the first of December. This year brings awareness on HIV and aging, with a focus on seniors as the number of people over 50 diagnosed with HIV in the province is on the rise, according to a statement from the Nova Scotia Advisory Commission on AIDS.
Senior's Minister Denise Peterson-Rafuse was on hand at Province House this morning to raise a flag marking the start to the Awareness week. Haligonia's Antoine Abawajy was on hand to film the event.
