Volatile substance detonated
Update: Police say the substance was isopropyl alcohol ( rubbing alcohol.) which was aged.
Halifax Regional Police responded to the 1100 block of Tower Road in Halifax for a report of a volatile substance that was discovered in a residence.
The Forensic Identification Section attended and deemed the substance to be too unstable to transport and was successfully detonated outside of the building.
There are no criminal charges pending, and there is no further risk to the public.
