Wednesday, June 21, 2017 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) wishes to invite the media to tomorrow night’s graduation of its newest volunteer recruits.
Thirty-nine firefighter recruits have been hard at work training over the past three months, and are now ready to be rewarded with their black helmets.
This class includes 21 firefighters who will move into Station 4 (Lady Hammond Road), as the first cohort of volunteers to take residence in a downtown fire station.
Twelve other stations across the municipality will also see new recruits join their ranks this week.

When: Thursday, June 22, 2017 (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
Where: East Dartmouth Community Centre – 50 Caledonia Road
The new firefighters have had to endure a battery of testing, training, and other rigorous procedures with exacting standards in order to successfully join HRFE.
The in-field training began in March and wraps up with tomorrow night’s graduation.
