Volunteer opportunities for the holiday season

Hi folks,
I think this will be my last post of the year. Things are getting crazy, and will only continue to get crazier for the next three months or so. But it’s a good note to go out on.
The Chebucto Connections Timebank has sent around some volunteer opportunities if you are staying in town over the holidays. Have a good one, everybody.
Food Bank
The food bank located at St. Paul’s church needs volunteers Tuesday, December 17th and Wednesday, December 18th to help with unloading turkeys, putting together food boxes, and transporting food boxes.
Tuesday, December 17th
8:30-12:00: Volunteers to lift turkeys and hampers or put together food boxes
Wednesday, December 18th
9:00-12:30: Volunteers to lift hampers or put together food boxes
12:30-3:30: Volunteers to lift hampers, put together food boxes, and drivers with vehicles to help deliver food boxes.
Please call by Monday, December 16th with your availability: 440-9552
Holiday Kettles
Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to take 2 hour shifts on the Kettles.
To book a time/location for a shift please contact Salvation Army Minister Sharon McLeod at 477-5393.
Boys and Girls Club Dinner
The Boys and Girls Club of Spryfield is hosting a Holiday dinner on December 22nd and is in need of volunteers to help with setting up, cooking, baking, cleaning, etc.. both the day of the dinner and the day before (December 21st).
For more information about the dinner and volunteering opportunities please contact Yvonne Macor at 431-0111, ymacor@gmail.com
Time Bank
Volunteers for all of the above opportunities can earn time banking hours – so if you give a service you can receive one in return. Contact Katherine Ryan, the Community Outreach Timebank Coordinator for more information. Here’s how:
