Monday, July 14, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Starting tomorrow evening (July 15) at 7 p.m.
and continuing through the night until 7 a.m., water main work will take place at the intersection of Kearney Lake Road and Hammonds Plains Road. This work will require a partial closure of Hammonds Plains Road at Kearney Lake Road.
This work, being undertaken by Atlantic Road Construction and Paving Ltd. on behalf of Halifax Water, is part of the project to replace 1.5 kilometres of the 1,200 mm diameter water transmission main.
During the crossing of Hammonds Plains Road one lane, two way, stop-and-go traffic will be maintained. Two way traffic will be in place on Kearney Lake Road.
There will be no loss of water or wastewater services.
The traffic lights at the intersection will be shut off. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.
Motorists are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible and to proceed carefully through the work zone. Motorists are also reminded speed fines are doubled in work zones.
We apologize for any inconvenience this infrastructure improvement work may cause.
