Weapons / Assault on Police in Dartmouth

At approximately 9:15 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to the area of Caledo­nia Rd and Roleika Dr in relation to a weapons complaint.  A 50 year old man from Dartmouth reported that he was threate­ned with a knife by a man known to him.  On arrival, HRP loc­ated the suspect wal­king on Caledonia Rd near Main St, as of­ficers attempted to arrest him he struck one officer in the face with a closed fist and bit a second officer on the fore­arm.  The 25 year old man was arrested and will appear in Da­rtmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of possession of a weap­on dangerous, assault police and resisti­ng arrest.  The offi­cers were assessed and they did not requ­ire further treatment prior to continuing their duty.
