Weapons call leads to charges

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged two men in relation to a weapons call in Halifax Monday night.

At 10:30 p.m. on November 6, police responded to the 5000 block of Victoria Road in relation to an assault with a weapon call involving a knife. Two men, who were known to each other, were taken into custody. Both men sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated by EHS at the scene. Both were taken to hospital for further treatment.

A 51-year-old man from Halifax has been charged with one count each of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 19 to face these charges.

A 46-year-old man also from Halifax has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 19 to face this charge.
