Weapons incident in Bedford

Police have charged two people with weapon offences after an incident in Bedford last night.

At approximately 6:45 p.m. police received a report of firearms that were believed to be improperly stored at a residence on William Borrett Terrace in Bedford. Investigators from the Integrated Criminal Investigations Division assisted by members of the Emergency Response Team conducted a search of the residence and seized a number of firearms and ammunition. A man and woman were arrested without incident.

A 32-year-old Bedford man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at later date to face charges of:

  • Unsafe storage of firearms (x 5)
  • Transportation of restricted firearms contrary to regulations
  • Possession of a firearm in an unauthorized place

A 27-year-old Bedford woman is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at later date to face charges of:

  • Unsafe storage of firearms (x 4)
