Weekend Wrap-Up: April 14-15

1. Shave for the Brave is the annual fundraiser for Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC). The Halifax Shave is scheduled for Saturday at the Halifax Shopping Centre. 2. There’s never been a better opportunity to introduce your children to the wonders of film! Discovery Centre and ViewFinder’s Film Festival host the free, Viewfinders Expo for all ages on Sunday, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Featuring a wide range of hands-on activities, visitors can see how special effects work, explore animation in hands-on workshops, walk the red carpet and watch youth-produced videos inside the Centre’s Theatre. 3. Calling all Hobby fans...it's that time of year again! On Sat. and Sun. be sure to check out the 2012 Spring Hobby Show at the Shearwater Aviation Museum from 10am-4pm each day. You'll see displays of Military, Ships, Automotive Models, Barbies, Dolls, Dollhouse Miniatures, Model Railways, Radio Control Aircraft and Ships. Plus LEGO, Historical Re-Enactors and a Model Contest. There's something for all ages of enthusiasts. 4. On Sunday, Mountain Equipment Co-op and Parks Canada bring you the chance to run through the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site and experience 19th century history in a whole new way! Three races are offered (Kids Race, 5K and 10K) providing a unique opportunity for runners and spectators alike to see firsthand what makes the Halifax Citadel fort so impressive!  5. On Saturday, runners, walkers and people of all fitness abilities will come together on the Halifax Waterfront for the 6th Annual Credit Union Atlantic Lung Run . Be part of the fastest growing road race in Atlantic Canada! ...
