Weekend Wrap-up Dec 10-11, 2016

Are you a city mouse or a country mouse or a little bit of both? This weekend take your pick of Town or Country in the setting of a play or the location of a market…

The Neptune Theatre presents the classic Miracle on 34th Street set in downtown New York. The play is running all season long, but showtimes this weekend are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and 2:00 matinees Saturday and Sunday. Tickets run from $33-80.
Alderney Landing presents a play set in a little town. If high drama in the country is your cup of tea, watch three families compete, dance, sing and discover their common ground in It’s a Small Town Christmas. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and Saturday at 2. Tickets are $18 + fees.
For a not-to-miss city market, drop in on The Halifax Lights Holiday Market at the Historic Properties. Hours this weekend are Friday from 4:00-9:00, Saturday from noon-9:00, and Sunday from noon-4:00. On Friday night there’s an outdoor concert, Saturday boasts a magic show, face painting and more, and on Sunday, Santa and Mrs. Clause will be showing up. Check the Urban Parent Calendar for times and more details!
Finally, Christmas in the country—A Christmas Market in a Barn, you can’t get more country than that! Take a spin out to Hubbards and check out this renowned market. It’s a great place to mingle and meet other families, talk to farmers and artisans and buy their wares. There will be handmade chocolates, Irene’s Preserves, handmade gifts, Blandford by the Sea’s seasonal produce, and more as well as a wholesome dose of holiday cheer!
