Weekend Wrap-up: March 2-3, 2013

1. On Saturday, March 2nd, "Read All About It" returns for a 5th year at Chapters/Indigo locations across Canada and at Bayers Lake Chapters in Halifax!  The event features special guests, live performances, and a great chance to promote friendship and reading together. The event also coincides with Best Buddies Month! Throughout the month of March, Best Buddies Canada chapters will all be holding chapter events, celebrating friendship and promoting inclusion.
 2. National Canadian Girl Scholarship Pageant Program for Girls is coming to Halifax on Saturday! They are not a beauty pageant! It's a natural scholarship pageant program designed to boost self esteem, public speaking abilities, social skills and have the girls make new friends. They will be collecting for the local food bank at this event. 3. Head to Michaels Arts and Crafts stores on Saturdays in March to check out their Kids Club! Kids can craft while you shop. Just $2 per child ages 3 and up, for a 30 minutes creative craft project. All supplies included. This weekend's theme is Read Across North America! 4. It's the rescheduled date for the ever popular CSO Children’s Concert! Chebucto Symphony Orchestra to premiere Follini Orchestral Work. The world premiere of HGS music teacher Charles Follini’s The Sleeping Prince will take place at St. Matthew’s United Church on Barrington Street.  The work will be performed by the Chebucto Symphony Orchestra as part of their annual family concert, and will be narrated by Max Kasper. 5. CYBER/BULLY HRM is a fundraising event to save a great anti-bullying program started by a few Truro police officers called the CYBER Internet Safety Society (or CISS).  It stars a live "robot" cop named CYBER. They are now looking to introduce it to the HRM but need funding to do so as it is entirely volunteer run. The CYBER/BULLY event will feature the full CYBER show and a screening of the documentary BULLY from 2012. It will take place on Saturday March 2. 2013 at 7pm at the All Saints Church in Bedford. All proceeds will go towards saving this program....
