Weekend Wrap-up: September 7-8, 2013

1. Switch: Open Street Sunday! From 10am-3pm, come celebrate our great city! This fun event encourages people to enjoy the city in a new way by walking, biking and moving around safely and comfortably on a 2km route.

The Open Street event will take place in Halifax, from Victoria Park to North and Agricola. Lots of music, kids fun, bike rentals and others activities will make this a great family friendly event for Downtown Halifax.

2. On Saturday head to the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum from 4:30-6:30pm for their annual Corn Boil and Ceilidh. Corn on the cob aplenty and a selection of seasonal homemade salads from the Farm’s own garden, homemade gingerbread cookies and beverages – everything fresh, local and delicious! Live musical entertainment. Outdoor seating/no reservations.

3. It’s Italian Weekend! Join them all weekend, as they celebrate Italian culture and heritage. Enjoy a fun-filled weekend of food, beverages, music, games, bocce, face painting, language lessons, pasta making demonstrations and a few surprises…fun for all ages!!!

4. Sunday there’s a free public performance presented by HRM (Canada Day rained out event!). Come see Flamenco en Rouge and friends put on a music and dance performance at Sackville Landing (Lower Water and Sackville Streets). A fun family friendly event that’s not to be missed. 

5. On Sunday from 11am-2pm come say goodbye to summer in “bouncing” style at Aro Inflatables, Redoubt Way!! This is an event for all ages with Bouncy Castles, Games, Face Painting, And so much more!
