Weight Restrictions Applied to Waverly and Fall River Bridges

(November 9, 2011) – Effective immediately, weight restrictions will be applied to two bridges in Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).  The bridges were identified as part of HRM’s routine bridge monitoring program. They were noted to be showing signs of deterioration requiring further inspection and immediate weight restrictions.  Details are listed below.

A request for proposals to identify an appropriate plan to address the Waverley Bridge structural issues will be posted on HRM’s procurement website in the coming days. HRM services, including fire, solid waste and snow removal, are not affected by these restrictions. Alternate routes around the bridges are available.
