Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Due to the rain in the forecast for Saturday, Aug. 8, the Halifax Regional Municipality and the organizing committee for the annual Welcome BBQ have decided to postpone the event until Saturday, Aug. 29.
We hope you can join us later this month to celebrate our diverse communities and welcome those who are new to the area.
This year promises to be another great afternoon of family fun, with plenty of food, culture and activities for the kids.
The Welcome BBQ is planned and delivered each year by a committee representing many organizations that serve newcomers in our region with the goal to create an intercultural gathering for all. Additional resources and information for newcomers is available on the municipal government website at http://www.halifax.ca/newcomers/.
