Wesley Woodworth v. Sobeys Group Inc.

An independent Nova Scotia Human Rights board of inquiry in the case of Wesley Woodworth v. Sobeys Group Inc. is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 22. Mr. Woodworth alleges that he was discriminated against when his job was terminated based on his inability to work in a specific area of the workplace due to his physical disability.

Mr. Woodworth alleges that he was discriminated against when his job was terminated based on his inability to work in a specific area of the workplace due to his physical disability.

Sobeys denies any discrimination and said the company fully met its duty to accommodate Mr. Woodworth.

The board of inquiry is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. each day, in the Blomidon Room at the Old Orchard Inn, 153 Greenwich Rd., Wolfville. The board chair is Dennis James, who is independent of the commission, which is a party representing the public interest at the board of inquiry.
