This past weekend marked the 7th annual Atlantic Fashion Week Designer Showcase. Featuring 14 of Atlantic Canada’s established designers along with the Centre For Arts and Technology students this show was a must see! This year AFW switched things up a bit and opted for a different location.
In the past the event was held at Casino Nova Scotia, and it has always been a really great venue, but the backdrop at Gallery 1 seriously took the event to entirely new level.
Featured Items: Dress: c/o Old Navy (available here) | Faux Leather Jacket: Winners | Dena Booties: c/o Vince Camuto (available here) | Clutch: c/o Gap | Necklace: Khols (purchased in Boston) | Sunnies: c/o Polette (available here).
Seated in the front row near the end of the runway I parked myself between Sarah (bohoandbraids) whom instantly adored and some of the girls from Line Magazine, and directly across from the team from Reginald; I was tickled pink to be smack dab in the middle of it all. With my iphone in hand I was ready to take notes (and videos!) to help me accurately document the show in great detail. See this year I was not only representing Short Presents, but also putting together some articles for StyleList. Be sure to check those out, as they should be coming online soon (I’ll keep you posted – haha – sorry so-much-pun!).
Anywayyyyy… I was really happy to be able to attend the event again this year; I’ve missed so many other events and shows in the last little while due to other commitments. I always look forward to these shows for the fashion of course, but also because I love catching up with everyone (especially the out of towners). Everyone in the biz is so super busy (myself included) with all of their various projects and commitments, so events like these really give us fashion folk a chance to soak up as much time as we can socializing because who knows when we’ll see each other again. Thanks so much for having me AFW I really had a great time! And great job Angela the venue was AH-MAZING! Also major kudos to all the other folks who tirelessly worked behind the scenes to make this great event possible !
Happy Friday Blog Reader! Hope you have a lovely lovely weekend with your families and friends! Don’t forget to be thankful!
Sincerely,
Short Presents
