The Spryfield Urban Farm invites you to our Open Farm day with Special Guests Art Bikers and If You Build It!
The Spryfield Urban Farm is a community garden and learning and teaching space located just above the Captain Spry Rec Center. We host many different groups and programs, have space for community members to garden, as well as sell vegetables from our own market garden. Nestled on a hill next to some woods, the farm is also just a beautiful place to spend an afternoon.
Come by the farm any time between 12-4 on Saturday August 3rd for:
A garden tour
Fresh vegetables from our market garden
Art activities with Art Bikers
Live music powered by If You Build It’s solar panels
and more!
Art Bikers is a community arts outreach program. They are a wonderful group of people that bike around the HRM and deliver inclusive art programs in public spaces. The Art Bikers have already been to the farm once, and created a beautiful mobile in one of our trees. Come up to the farm and get crafty with whatever the Art Bikers have planned for us next!
If You Build It is a community group that is looking to spread awareness about the accessibility of alternative energy. Having successfully built a wind turbine, and a whole lot of solar panels, the group is well on their way to their goal. We are so grateful that they are lending us some solar panels to power live music by local musicians. If you are interested in performing give us a call at the number below!
