White Most Popular Car Colour of 2014

In Halifax, we have yet to receive any substantial amount of snow, but as it turns out, those wishing for a white Christmas need just check their neighbours’ driveways.

For the second year in a row, white was named the most popular car colour for new vehicles in 2014, according to paint company, PPG Industries.

23% of all new cars sold in North America this year were white, with black taking second place with 18th, gray earning bronze with 16% and silver hot on its heels at 15%.

Don’t think it’s just us North Americans who are seemingly okay with non-vibrant colours, our market mirrors colour preference for new cars around the world.

What’s the hot new colour for 2015? PPG predicts colours such as bronze, pewter, and rose gold will make a breakthrough next year.
