2016/1/11 Windsor District RCMP has laid charges against two youths after receiving a complaint relating to the distribution of intimate images. On January 6, 2016 at approximately 9:00 a.m. Windsor District RCMP responded to a complaint of youths distributing intimate images of a 15-year-old female. An investigation determined that photographs were shared online through text message and a chat website. Two youths are facing charges.A 15-year-old female from Hants County has been charged with the following offences: • Possession of Child Pornography • Distribution of Child Pornography • Publication of Child PornographyA 15-year-old male, also from Hants County, has been charged with the following offences: • Possession of Child Pornography • Distribution of Child PornographyBoth of the accused will appear in Windsor Provincial Court on April 1, 2016. The investigation is continuing.'These are very serious offences so as police, we are urging parents to start the conversation with their children about the proper use of smart phones and technology,' says Cst. Mark Skinner, Nova Scotia RCMP. 'Much of our youth are constantly communicating on their smartphones. We need to ensure they understand the gravity of their actions and the consequences associated to the sharing of intimate images without consent.'RCMP would like to remind the public that it is illegal to distribute an intimate image of someone without their consent. Once a digital image is created it is impossible to know what will happen when it goes out into the world. It is almost impossible to control what happens to that image and it may never be deleted. Citizens can protect themselves by never creating a sexual image of themselves or never sharing, sending or posting that of another person. A 15-year-old female from Hants County has been charged with the following offences:

• Possession of Child Pornography

• Distribution of Child Pornography

• Publication of Child Pornography

A 15-year-old male, also from Hants County, has been charged with the following offences:

• Possession of Child Pornography

• Distribution of Child Pornography

Both of the accused will appear in Windsor Provincial Court on April 1, 2016. The investigation is continuing.
