Wolfville School Renovated and Updated

Students and teachers will benefit from significant renovations and upgrades to Wolfville School.

Government invested $14.6 million towards providing a modern learning space for the school’s 300 students to achieve their goals.

Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Zach Churchill joined students, teachers and staff today, Nov. 21, to celebrate the official opening of the school.

“We are pleased to support this renovation, which came in on budget and on schedule,” said Mr. Churchill. “We appreciate the strong collaboration from the school, the board, and the community.”

The original school was built in 1954, with additions in 1964 and 1972. A wing for elementary students, added in the 1970s, has been completely renovated and a small two-level classroom area was added to the building. All mechanical, electrical and communications systems have been upgraded to current building code standards.

The renovations are the result of collaborative process that involved the School Steering Team and the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board. Open meetings with the community were held to provide information and hear feedback.
