Police have charged a woman and a youth with drug and weapons offences after a search in Halifax yesterday morning.
On June 2 at approximately 5:30 a.m. investigators in the Guns and Gangs Unit and Drug Unit of the Integrated Special Enforcement Section along with members of the Emergency Response Team conducted a search of a residence in the 3000 block of Joseph Howe Drive in relation to an ongoing investigation. Investigators seized a quantity of cocaine, cash, two handguns and ammunition. A woman and a youth who were in the residence were arrested without incident.
Olivia Braelee Sampson, 20, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:
Unsafe storage of a firearm
Possession of a firearm contrary to a court order (x4)
Failing to surrender weapons contrary to court order
Handling a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations (x2)
Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x2)
Possession of a firearm without a license (x2)
Possession of a prohibited weapon
Possession of a prohibited weapon or ammunition without a license
Possession of a loaded prohibited weapon (x2)
Possession of a firearm or prohibited weapon obtained by crime (x2)
Possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking (x2)

The 17-year-old youth is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:
