Pictou District RCMP arrested a 22-year-old New Glasgow woman for drug-impaired driving this past weekend.
At approximately 11:15 a.m. on October 20, Pictou District RCMP was dispatched to a complaint of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 104 near Exit 25 in Plymouth. Witnesses told police the vehicle had been travelling East, when it struck the guard rail on the right side of the highway, then crossed three lanes and struck the median.
Subsequent investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired driving by drug. She faces charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by Drug and Refusal to Submit to an Evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert. She was released from custody later that day and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on December 19.
