Woman arrested for selling illegal smokes

The Yarmouth/Clare RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has charged a woman with selling illegal cigarettes in Yarmouth.

On March 29, in relation to an illegal tobacco investigation, Yarmouth/Clare RCMP SCEU, with assistance from Yarmouth Town RCMP, executed a search warrant at a hone on Kempt St. in Yarmouth. RCMP safely arrested a 59-year-old woman at the home, and during the search RCMP seized cartons of unstamped cigarettes, packaging materials and a cellular phone.

Roxanne Ruth Schlosser, 59, of Yarmouth, has been charged with Selling Tobacco Products and Raw Leaf Tobacco, Possession of Tobacco Product Not Stamped, Possession of Tobacco on Which Tax Has Not Been Paid and Possession of Tobacco Not Bearing a Prescribed Mark.

Schlosser was released from custody on an Appearance Notice and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on June 6, 2022.
