Woman charged with assault on a police officer

On September 14, Cumberland District RCMP attended a home in Collingwood to arrest a woman who was breaching her court-ordered release conditions.

When police arrived at the home on Wyvern Rd., they arrested 22-year-old Candace Haines, and during the arrest, Haines assaulted one of the police officers. She was taken into custody without further incident and taken to court. Haines has been charged with several offences:

·       Assaulting a Police Officer 

·       Uttering Threats

·       Breach of Conditions (5 counts)

·       Breach of Probation

Following her appearance in Amherst Provincial Court, Haines was released. She is scheduled to return to court on September 21.
