Woman charged with attempted murder following shooting in rural Annapolis County

RCMP release:

Annapolis District RCMP has charged a woman with attempted murder and firearms offences following a shooting in Princedale. 

On August 26 at approximately 12:20 a.m., Annapolis District RCMP, Kings District RCMP, and EHS responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Clementsvale Rd. Officers learned that a man had been shot by a woman known to him.

Somewhere in the middle — and that's okay.

Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital by EHS with life-threatening injuries.

Officers safely arrested the woman, who had remained on scene.

Investigators located and seized the firearm believed to have been used in the incident, along with other evidence.

Angel Paul, 20, of West Paradise, has been charged with Attempt to Commit Murder with Firearm and several other weapons-related offences, including Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Unauthorized Possession of Firearm. She has also been charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking.

Paul had a first court appearance on August 27 at Annapolis Royal Provincial Court and remains in custody pending future court appearances.

The ongoing investigation is being led by Annapolis District RCMP with support from Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit and RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
