Release:
A 29-year-old Nictaux woman faces impaired driving charges after a concerned caller contacted police and told them they thought she was impaired when she picked up a child at a child care business.
The incident occurred on February 21 at 4 p.m., when Kings District RCMP members responded. The caller provided a description of the vehicle and the licence plate number to police. Members of Kingston RCMP located the vehicle a short time later in Annapolis County. The driver showed signs of drug impairment and was arrested. The child was located safe inside the vehicle, and was placed in the care of a responsible person. The driver was taken to the Kingston RCMP detachment where she was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), who determined she was impaired by drugs. The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Annapolis Provincial Court on May 4 at 9:30 a.m.
