Woman hit with metal pipe, charges laid

Kings District RCMP has charged a man with Aggravated Assault after an incident in Auburn.

Yesterday morning, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of an assault outside of a home on Hwy. 1. RCMP officers learned that a woman was involved in a verbal altercation with a neighbour when he struck her on the head with a metal pipe before fleeing to his residence. The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

RCMP officers quickly responded to the nearby home, where a 24-year-old Auburn man was safely arrested.

William Rayne Wack has been charged with the following offences:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order (three counts)

Wack was remanded in custody and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on July 10 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
