Halifax Regional Police is investigating a suspicious incident that occurred in Bedford this afternoon.
At 1:10 p.m., officers responded to the end of Stockton Ridge for a report of a disturbance. A witness reported observing a young woman screaming and running away from a car at the end of the cul-de-sac. A man was chasing after the woman, and once he got a hold of her, he forcibly brought her back to the vehicle. Although she attempted to exit the vehicle, she was prevented from doing so by the man. The man got back in the car and the vehicle left the area with the woman still inside. Neither the car nor the occupants were located.
The vehicle is described as a newer red Mazda 6, with chrome bumpers and a license plate obstructed by dirt and salt. The driver is described as a white or Asian man in his late forties or early fifties, 6’ tall, with a medium build and white hair. The woman is described as an Asian woman in her twenties with dark hair. It is unclear at this time if the man and the woman are known to each other.
